Aaron Goodis is 28 years old and lives in Vancouver, B.C. He's been fly fishing since he was five. He enjoys fishing for all species but currently specializes in spey casting for Steelhead and fishing the interior lakes for bows. He loves tying and fishing Intruder style flies, making photographs while on the water, and landscape photography. He's been involved in the fly fishing industry for about 12 years, working at a well known fly shop as well as spending four summers developing and guiding a fly fishing program at a fishing resort in northern British Columbia. At the present he is a Federation of Fly Fishers certified fly casting instructor and is developing both single and double handed fly casting courses and on the water schools through Michael and Young Fly Shop. He gives demonstrations on modern Steelhead fly tying, and is working on a coffee table book.
Dec began fishing with a two-handed rod before modern lines and rods were popular. He quickly became a master of the Spey cast and continues to be at the forefront of new casting techniques and equipment. Dec's recent book, "A Passion for Steelhead" is one of the top books on steelhead fishing. When not working to save lives as an EMT firefighter, Dec can be found teaching two-hand casting and fishing clinics and leading trips to Alaska, Canada, Washington and Oregon. (We've been working on our own book, "A Passion for Dec's Beard".)
Tom Larimer is an avid two hand angler and steelhead bum, and a full-time guide and casting instructor specializing in two hand rods. He's a familiar sight on several of Oregon's major steelhead waters, and was one of the key designers behind Airflo's Skagit Compact lines.
Born in 1971, Marty grew up on the banks of the Sandy River and landed his first Steelhead at the age of 5 in 1976. His dad had a great influence and took him fishing it seemed everyday. Much of Marty's fly fishing inspiration came from reading books as a kid. Roderick Haig-Brown and Bill McMillan were huge contributors through their writing. As a teenager in the late 80’s Steve Kruse taught Marty the art of speycasting. Steve was instrumental in helping Marty and his wife Mia in acquiring Little Creek Outfitters and jump starting their guiding/outfitter career in the late 90’s (Mia is the brains of the outfit, Marty provides the sexy casts).
Jeff Wagner is a fish bum to the core. In his professional life Jeff is a Fisheries Biologist as well as a Master Certified Fly Casting Instructor with the Federation of Fly Fishers, a fly fishing guide, speaker, writer, and Pro Staff with Oakley and other companies. He currently lives in Fort Collins Colorado fishing for big trout, bigger carp, and warmwater species. However, fish species he pursues are only limited to those with fins and he travels long distances to go after as many species as possible. His love for fly fishing bleeds into all areas of the sport as he pursues excellence in fly casting and fly tying. Jeff also works with non-profit organizations like Reel Recovery and enjoys teaching fly fishing whenever possible. Competitive achievements include top rankins in the Orvis Cup, Teva Mountain Games, Best of the West Distance Casting Competitions, North American Fly Fishing Classic, and other competitions. His favorite fishing partner and competition companion is his wife, Kathleen a music teacher and photographer, who has also placed among the best women in competitions, at times beating the guys (including Jeff).
Captain Eric Wallace’s focus is skinny water fishing for striped bass. It’s on the countless acres of mud and sand flats in Maine’s Casco Bay that Eric has earned his reputation as the guide to fish the shallows with. Combine an innovative fly tier with a tireless fishhead and you will see why clients return to fish with Eric year after year. Capt Eric spends the winter months chasing fish in the lower Florida keys.
Hello, my name is Greg Wolf. I live in Chilliwack BC Canada; I first started fishing at a very young age with the family outings. Ever since then I have had a passion for the sport. My obsession is fly fishing for steelhead. I love it when you know that you have made a great cast or got your fly to swing in behind a boulder and hook into one of those incredible fish. There is something about watching a steelhead jump, and the line peeling from the reel, that keeps me fascinated by these fish. As a fisherman, I enjoy fishing with different people and watching them cast. Everyone does something a little different, and this enables us to learn new methods, after all, that is what it’s all about… the pursuit to be better at what we do.
